At Greenfields Veterinary Associates, we tailor our vaccine recommendations to your pet’s individual needs. While some aren’t necessary for your pets to receive, the state of New Jersey mandates that all pets receive certain vaccinations. Unvaccinated animals are more susceptible to harmful and deadly infectious diseases, which is why it is important that you ensure your pet is up to date on all required vaccinations.
All dogs must be vaccinated for rabies as required by New Jersey state law. We also vaccinate all dogs for the distemper and parvovirus. Large dogs are vaccinated against leptospirosis. Because New Jersey has a very high incidence of Lyme disease, all dogs that are at risk for tick exposure should be vaccinated against it.
We recommend vaccinating against kennel cough and canine influenza if your dog goes to:
Dog parks
Groomers
Obedience classes
Boarding kennels
